Sniper Elite V2

Hey gamers,

The sequal to Sniper Elite released this week and I have mixed feelings about it.

It is a fun game. It’s extremely satisfying to see your enemy’s brains explote in excellent slow-mo x-ray vision. And the graphics are very, very good. But a game this linear has one flaw that kills games like this time and time again: No longevity. There are a handful of things that make this game unique, but every scenario you get in is a lot like the last. After just a few hours of playing, you feel like you’ve seen all this game has to offer.

In the competitive industry of gaming you need much more than just one awesome feature. But beyond that it’s too repetitive and honestly, not challenging enough. The AI has about 3rd grade level intelligence and although satisfying at first, you sort of end up feeling like your jsut taking advantage of their stupidity rather than trying to out-maneuver them.

Get it or Skip it?

Skip it. Don’t get me wrong. You will enjoy this game. But it is not worth its price for the reasons listed above. I honestly believe the demo has about as much gameplay as you need. If you need more i’d suggest trying to convince a friend to buy it and play it with them. You wouldn’t pay for a meal at a restaurant that didn’t even have a full meals worth of calories. So don’t pay for a game that doesn’t have $50 worth of gameplay.
