Dirt Showdown

Hey gamers,

Dirt Showdown is a little sidestep in the Dirt series that was released last week, focusing more on arcade style games rather than races. It is very different from the other Dirt games when it comes to overall gameplay. It’s not my cup of tea but I can’t say I don’t enjoy it.

It’s focus is more on damaging other cars and recovering from crashes (derby style events) rather than speed and percision (rally/ circuits). Personally i’m not too skilled at this type of racing. I’m much better in long rally’s rather than smash-up derby events. But outside of my own misscomings, I can’t fault the game for what it is. It is a very fun game with some very good graphics. For those of you in the same boat as me however, Dirt 4 is in the making, which will be more like the other Dirt games we’ve come to love.

Although fun, it is good to know this isn’t where the dirt series is going. The graphics are great as expected, and the gameplay is fun, but it just doesn’t have the depth and longterm enjoyment of previous dirt games.

Get it or Skip it?

Get it. If it were a full 60 dollars i’d say it isn’t worth the money. But because you can find it online for around 35 dollars, I’d say it’s well worth the money for some multiplayer fun.
