Alan Wake’s American Nightmare

Hey gamers,

I was a huge fan of Alan Wake when it first came out. To date i’d say it is one of the most captivating games i’ve ever played. Because of it’s amazing atmosphere and story-line I was immediately drawn into the dark town of Bright Falls, Washington and the mystery surrounding it. I was so drawn in, in fact, that I completely ignored its repetitive combat. I just wanted to see what happened next.

Now take out the great story-line and entire atmosphere and you have Alan Wake’s American Nightmare. This game focuses on what was wrong with Alan Wake, and diminishes what was right. It’s sad to see and i really hope this isn’t the direction the franchise is going.

Get it or Skip it?

Skip it. The only good thingabout this game is its price, which is around $15. I’d pay $3 max for this game. If you wanted to play Alan Wake but didn’t want to pay for it (you can find it for $30 dollars now) , wait for the original to become cheaper. This is a horrible representation of the true brilliance that is Alan Wake.

Anyone disagree? I’d love to hear someone elses opinion on this game. Am I missing something in the combat?
